Welcome!
The purpose of this website is to compose and compile my beliefs on the theatre, creating a personal manifesto. I believe that acting is everything and everywhere; it is all around us at all times. There does not need to be a stage or performance space in order for something to be considered acting. There does not need to be rehearsed movement and lines. There does not need to be a cohesive plot or story line There does not even need to be an audience. As long as the person acknowledges what they are doing as acting, then they are acting. The words actor and performer should not be used interchangeably and throughout this site, I will see that I use the words as I see properly fit, and not how society has trained us to use these words. For this website, an actor is any person, anywhere, portraying any act, whereas a performer is a person whose purpose is to entertain or execute a specific premeditated idea. An audience is necessary for a performer, even if it is simply one person, or a lone camera, it is still an audience, but an actor needs no audience. The only things that an actor needs are their willingness and their imagination.
